The Opportunity We are looking for a Grant Specialist to join our Development team. This role is crucial to our capital campaign, which aims to establish a sister company for manufacturing solar panels. Role Overview The Grant Specialist will play a crucial role in identifying, securing, and managing grant opportunities that support our projects and initiatives. This position involves working closely with our development team, leadership, and external partners to ensure the successful acquisition and administration of grants. This position offers a competitive commission-based remuneration package. While the specific compensation structure is based on commission, we ensure that our team members are rewarded for their hard work and success in securing grants that advance our mission. Further details regarding the commission structure will be discussed during the interview process. While the role is remote, preference will be given to candidates located in Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan) in order to align with our company’s growth and development in the prairies. Key Responsibilities • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities relevant to renewable energy and manufacturing. • Develop compelling grant proposals, including writing, editing, and submitting grant requests. • Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and potential funders. • Monitor grant reporting requirements and deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate reports. • Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to track grant expenditures and outcomes. • Stay informed about trends and changes in grant funding opportunities within the renewable energy and manufacturing sectors. • Monitor and ensure grant compliance with all relevant regulations and granting criteria. Qualifications • Proven experience in grant writing and management, preferably in the renewable energy or manufacturing industry. • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. • Familiarity with the renewable energy and manufacturing sectors and their funding landscapes. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
